With Nothing To Lose
With Nothing To Lose
What demons do you fight
During the day and during the night?
Are they far or are they near?
Do they stifle your ability to see or desire to hear?
Could you say they are friend for foe?
And if they held you would they let go?
Could you ask if they mean harm?
Would they steal the sheep from your farm?
And if they’re unwilling to listen
Just know in sunlight the truth with glisten
Upon you and your dreams
As dark as the present tense seems.
For the demons serve no other deed
Than to deny your soul be freed.
The fear we most anticipate
Would hardly abate
Without the mysterious demonic storm
From which, heroically born,
Will ultimately serve as your victorious muse;
So you could learn to play with nothing to lose.
